11K Tesla Cybertrucks Recalled for Loose Bed Trim and Wiper Issue

Tesla Recalls Over 11,000 Cybertrucks for Wiper Motor and Trim Issues

Introduction

Tesla has issued two separate recalls for the Cybertruck, addressing concerns related to windshield wiper motors and bed trim. These recalls affect over 11,000 vehicles and require owners to visit a dealership for necessary repairs.

Windshield Wiper Motor Recall

A total of 11,688 Cybertrucks are being recalled due to faulty windshield wiper motors that may fail from receiving excessive current. Owners of trucks built between November 2023 and June 2024 are advised to schedule a visit to have the wiper motor replaced at a dealership.

Bed Trim Issue Recall

Additionally, Tesla is recalling 11,383 Cybertrucks manufactured between November and May to address a problem with a piece of trim on the bed that could detach. Dealers will inspect the trim and determine whether it needs replacement or reattachment with new adhesive.

Recall Process

Unlike previous recalls that were resolved through over-air updates, both the windshield wiper motor and bed trim issues require physical inspection and repair at a dealership. Owners are encouraged to contact their nearest Tesla service center to schedule an appointment for the necessary repairs.

Conclusion

These recalls highlight Tesla’s commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of its vehicles. By addressing these issues promptly, the company aims to maintain customer satisfaction and uphold its reputation for innovation in the electric vehicle market.
