2024 Acura ZDX Electric SUV Unveiled

Acura Reveals the 2024 ZDX Electric SUV: A New Era of EVs for Honda and Acura

Honda and Acura have been relatively slow in their transition to electric vehicles (EVs), but they are now working diligently to catch up with the rest of the industry. As part of their efforts, the Japanese automakers have partnered with General Motors, and the first fruits of this collaboration are the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX. Acura recently provided more details about its upcoming electric SUV, which is set to hit the market in 2024.

The Acura ZDX will be available in two configurations: A-Spec and Type S. The base A-Spec model comes in both single- and dual-motor setups, offering an impressive 340 horsepower for single-motor variants. With a 102-kWh battery pack, the ZDX boasts a range of up to 325 miles with one motor and 315 miles with two motors. On the other hand, the range-topping Type S delivers a massive 500 horsepower and a still-respectable 288 miles of range. However, the Type S is only available with two motors.

To ensure a seamless charging experience for ZDX owners, Acura will assist customers in finding home charging installation services. Additionally, owners can use the Acura app to locate charging stations in their vicinity. Starting next year, ZDX customers will have access to a network of high-speed chargers across the United States and Canada, with the first charging stations set to open soon.

Acura’s design team in Los Angeles has crafted the ZDX with several well-known styling elements that are synonymous with the brand. These include the signature “Jewel Eye” headlights, “chicane” daytime running lights, and sharp lines that give the SUV a distinct and modern appearance. Inside the cabin, the ZDX offers top-shelf materials and a host of new technologies. It is the first Acura model to feature Google built-in, providing users with access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other convenient tech features. Both ZDX variants also come equipped with a Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound Control system that ensures an immersive audio experience throughout the cabin.

Safety is a top priority for Acura, and all ZDX models come standard with AcuraWatch safety technology. This includes the brand’s first rear cross-traffic braking and blind spot steering assist systems. The ZDX also introduces a new hands-free cruise system, a first for Acura, which can be used on up to 400,000 miles of highway. Additionally, an automatic parking system makes it easier for drivers to navigate tight parking spaces without any concerns.

With the introduction of the 2024 ZDX electric SUV, Acura is signaling its commitment to the future of electric mobility. By partnering with General Motors and leveraging their expertise, Acura aims to deliver a compelling electric vehicle that combines performance, range, and cutting-edge technology. The ZDX represents a significant step forward for Acura in the EV market and sets the stage for future electric offerings from the brand.

As Honda and Acura continue to accelerate their efforts in the EV space, customers can expect more exciting developments in the coming years. With the 2024 ZDX electric SUV leading the charge, Acura is poised to make a splash in the electric vehicle market and establish itself as a formidable player in the industry. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements from Acura as they pave the way for a new era of electric vehicles.
