2024 Honda CR-V Coming to Australia with 1.5L and 2.0L Choices

The 2024 Honda CR-V is set to hit the Australian market on September 1, and prices and specifications have just been announced. With seven different variants to choose from, there is a CR-V to suit every buyer’s needs and budget.

The majority of the CR-V models come equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. While the Australian specifications for this engine have not been released, it is expected to deliver similar performance to its North American counterpart, which produces 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. The entry-level model in the range is the five-seat 2WD VTi X, priced at AU$44,500 ($29,798). For those looking for a more well-equipped option, the five-seat 2WD VTi L starts at AU$48,800 ($32,678).

If you need more seating capacity, there are two seven-seat versions available. The VTi X7 is priced at AU$46,800 ($31,338), while the VTi L7 comes in at AU$53,000 ($35,490). Both of these models offer the convenience of extra seating without compromising on style or performance.

For those who prefer all-wheel drive capability, there are two options available. The five-seat AWD VTi L starts at AU$51,300 ($34,352), while the five-seat AWD VTi LX has a starting price of AU$57,000 ($38,169). These models are perfect for those who frequently encounter challenging road conditions or enjoy off-road adventures.

At the top of the range is the Honda CR-V e-HEV RS. This model is exclusively available as a five-seater and features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors. In North American specification, this hybrid powertrain produces a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. The CR-V e-HEV RS starts at AU$59,900 ($40,111), but it is eligible for state-based rebates in Australia, which can significantly reduce the price.

The introduction of the CR-V e-HEV RS marks the first time Honda will offer a hybrid powertrain in Australia. This addition to Honda’s lineup reflects the brand’s commitment to providing customers with more choices when it comes to eco-friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles. The e-HEV hybrid powertrain has already proven popular in other Honda models, such as the Accord, Civic, Honda ZR-V, and HR-V, thanks to its combination of performance and efficiency.

Honda Australia director Carolyn McMahon expressed her excitement about the launch of the all-new CR-V with an e:HEV Hybrid powertrain. She stated that this addition will strengthen Honda’s hybrid offering and provide customers with even more options when considering their next Honda purchase.

With its range of engine options, seating configurations, and advanced hybrid technology, the 2024 Honda CR-V is poised to be a popular choice among Australian SUV buyers. Whether you prioritize performance, fuel efficiency, or versatility, there is a CR-V model that will meet your needs. Pre-orders are already being accepted at local dealerships, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to be one of the first to experience the latest iteration of this beloved SUV.
