2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift: Extensive Updates and More Powerful Engine

2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift

Introduction

Hyundai is set to unveil the facelifted version of the Creta in the Indian market, featuring extensive visual and technological updates. The company has also announced the addition of a more powerful turbocharged gasoline engine to the powertrain lineup.

Design Changes

The second-generation Creta, introduced in 2019, is receiving a boxier stance and a more serious-looking face for the 2024 model. The new design includes full-width LEDs merging with a larger grille, smaller lower units for the split headlights, and a taller and flatter hood. The LED taillights now mirror the front lights, and both bumpers feature aluminum-style skid plates.

Interior Upgrades

Hyundai has released a teaser photo of the interior, showcasing an overhauled dashboard. The Creta adopts a unified layout for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display, similar to other Hyundai models. The elongated vents and revised climate controls on the center console are also visible. Additionally, safety equipment will be improved with more Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Powertrain Options

The 2024 Hyundai Creta will offer three non-electrified powertrain options. The 1.5-liter MPi gasoline and 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engines, producing 113 hp (85 kW / 115 PS), will be carried over from the previous model. However, a new and more powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter Kappa T-GDi gasoline engine, producing 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS), will be added. Gearbox options include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, a continuously variable transmission (CVT), or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) depending on the powertrain.

Availability and Future Updates

The facelifted Creta is already available for order in India and will go on sale later this month. It is unclear if the updates will be applied to Creta models sold in other countries such as China, Brazil, and Mexico in the future. The Indonesian-built Creta, which debuted in 2022, is expected to retain its unique Tucson-inspired design.
