2024 Nissan Fairlady Z Lineup Revealed in Japan, Featuring New Custom Edition

Nissan has officially announced the release of the 2024 Fairlady Z in Japan, which includes the Nismo and Customized Edition variants. The Nismo version is very similar to the US-spec model, while the Customized Edition features a redesigned bodykit.

The Fairlady Z Customized Edition was first showcased in 2022 with the Proto Customized Concept, and Nissan unveiled the final production model at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon. The Customized Edition is available as part of the Nissan Genuine Accessory Package, offering two options that will be released at the end of October. The entry-level package includes a front bumper with a split grille design and a carbon rear spoiler. The full package adds 19-inch alloy wheels, special emblems, and black decals on the hood and profile.

The JDM-spec Fairlady Z Nismo shares a striking resemblance to the US-spec Nissan Z Nismo. It features a sporty bodykit with a sleeker bumper intake and prominent aero components with red accents. The Nismo version also comes with glossy black 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, which are exclusive to this variant. The Steel Grey / Super Black bi-tone exterior is one of the five available body colors for the Nismo. Inside, Recaro sports seats with perforated Alcantara and leather upholstery provide a luxurious and comfortable driving experience.

Under the hood, the Nismo version of the Fairlady Z is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. It has been modified to produce 414 horsepower (309 kW / 420 PS) and 520 Nm (383.5 lb-ft) of torque, compared to the 400 horsepower (298 kW / 405 PS) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque in the rest of the Fairlady Z lineup. Similar to the US-spec Nismo, the Japanese model is exclusively available with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. In addition to the enhanced powertrain, the Nismo model features a Nismo-specific setup with stiffer suspension, a more rigid chassis, stronger brakes, sharper steering, and an extra Sport+ driving mode.

The regular Nissan Fairlady Z for 2024 remains largely unchanged. However, it does come with some new additions, such as standard Amazon Alexa compatibility across the range. The exterior also offers a new 432 Orange shade, inspired by the classic Z432, and the T/ST grades now come with a blue interior.

In terms of pricing, the Fairlady Z ranges between ¥5,398,800-6,657,200 ($37,665-46,450), while the Nismo version costs ¥9,200,400 ($64,195).

Overall, the 2024 Fairlady Z lineup from Nissan offers a range of options for sports car enthusiasts in Japan. Whether it’s the performance-focused Nismo variant or the stylish Customized Edition, there is something for everyone. With its powerful engine, sleek design, and advanced features, the Fairlady Z continues to be a popular choice among car enthusiasts.
