2024 Peugeot 3008 Interior Unveils 21-Inch Screen

Peugeot has recently unveiled its new panoramic i-Cockpit interior, set to debut in the all-new electric 3008 in September 2023. This innovative design will gradually make its way into the entire Peugeot lineup. The centerpiece of the dashboard is a free-standing 21-inch curved panoramic screen, which merges the digital instrument cluster, head-up display, and touchscreen into a single unit. This screen is supported by a rear leg and has an LED on its base to create a “floating” effect. The right side of the curved display is touch-sensitive, allowing access to the infotainment, settings, and climate controls.

In addition to this, an extra touch screen on the center console houses the “i-Toggles” shortcuts with ten customizable spots replacing the old aircraft-style switches. Peugeot has retained the signature small-diameter steering wheel with two spokes and flat edges, but the new unit has an array of shiny touch-sensitive controls with a “tactile clicking” feature to avoid accidental operation. These are combined with two new “slim and elegant” controls mounted behind the steering wheel.

The high-mounted central tunnel looks even more futuristic than in the outgoing Peugeot 3008, housing additional controls including the cylindrical volume knob and the electric parking brake. The automatic gearbox selector has been relocated on the dashboard, next to the start-stop button. The rest of the dashboard looks like an evolution of the current theme. The 8-color ambient lighting above the “genuine aluminum trim” and high-quality fabrics create a premium look for the new 3008, supporting Peugeot’s upmarket move.

Peugeot describes the new 3008 as an “all-new electric fastback SUV,” highlighting its zero-emission powertrain and aerodynamic silhouette that will be a lot more aerodynamic compared to its predecessor. The compact SUV is expected to ride on the new STLA Medium architecture, set to replace the aging EMP2 platform. It will be available with three electric powertrain options and offer a driving range of up to 700 km (435 miles).

Peugeot has not yet revealed the exterior of the model, but earlier spy shots and renderings give an idea of its looks. The company has added a preview of the camouflage wrap that will be covering the 2024 Peugeot 3008 prototypes. Hopefully, spy photographers will catch them before the French automaker publishes its official teasers.

In summary, Peugeot’s new panoramic i-Cockpit interior is set to revolutionize the driving experience, with a free-standing 21-inch curved panoramic screen merging the digital instrument cluster, head-up display, and touchscreen into a single unit.
