Kia Teases 2025 Sorento Ahead of Los Angeles Auto Show
The highly anticipated Los Angeles Auto Show is just around the corner, and Kia is ready to give us a glimpse into the future. The automaker has released a teaser image of the 2025 Sorento, building up excitement for its upcoming reveal.
A Bold New Design
The facelifted crossover, which was unveiled earlier this year in South Korea, features an assertive Opposites United design that is sure to turn heads. The standout feature is the new grille, flanked by vertical headlights and “star map” daytime running lights. The bumper has also been redesigned to give the Sorento a more rugged and aggressive look.
While the updates to the exterior are modest, they make a big impact. The wheels have been restyled, and the taillights are now connected for a sleeker appearance. The rear bumper has also received a subtle revision.
Next-Level Interior
The US-spec Sorento is expected to come with an all-new interior that takes minimalism to the next level. The dashboard features a sleek design, and the centerpiece is a curved panoramic display consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. This new infotainment system is expected to support over-the-air updates, keeping the Sorento up to date with the latest technology.
Other interior highlights include revised switchgear, digital key technology, and a fingerprint authentication system for added security. The trim has also been updated, and the Sorento now comes with a digital rearview mirror.
Powerful Performance Options
In Korea, the Sorento is available with a range of engine options. These include a turbocharged 2.5-liter unit producing 277 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid, and a 2.2-liter diesel engine with 191 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
While the US-specifications have yet to be announced, the current model offers 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines as well as hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. It’s safe to say that the 2025 Sorento will continue to offer a variety of powerful and efficient powertrain choices.
