The Facelifted Genesis GV60 Undergoes Testing in Europe

The facelifted Genesis GV60 has been spied undergoing testing in Europe. Spy photos give us our first look inside and reveal a new widescreen display as well as a sportier steering wheel.

Updates to the Interior

As you can see, the cabin largely carries over but there are a handful of updates. The most noticeable is a flat-bottom steering wheel, which features red contrast stitching. Elsewhere, there’s a new widescreen display.

Possible Battery Upgrade

Genesis is staying tight-lipped on specifics, but the model will likely follow in the footsteps of the facelifted Kia EV6 and have a fourth-generation battery pack with a higher energy density. This increased the EV6’s capacity from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh, which resulted in an extra 11.8 miles (19 km) of range.

Exterior Changes

Moving outside, the prototype is heavily disguised but Genesis accidently revealed the front fascia back in February. As a result, we know the GV60 will have a new front bumper with prominent air curtains as well as a revised central intake. The rear end appears largely unchanged, but we can likely expect some minor styling tweaks.

Possible Performance Improvements

Besides the beefier battery, Kia improved the rapid charging speed. Using a 350 kW DC fast charger, the model can go from a 10% to 80% charge in as little as 18 minutes. The changes likely won’t stop there as the EV6 also benefited from a retuned suspension and NVH improvements. On top of that, the model has a reinforced structure and a thicker B-pillar.
