Karma Announces Recall for Revero Models
Karma, the boutique automaker known for salvaging Fisker Automotive’s remains and rebranding the sleek hybrid sports sedan into the Revero, has recently unveiled an all-electric sedan based on the same platform. However, the company’s latest recall sheds light on production issues with the Revero models over a two-and-a-half-year period.
Recall Details
The recall affects all Revero GT, GS-6, GTS, GS-6s, and GS-6L models manufactured between July 16, 2019, and December 21, 2022. A total of 269 sedans are included in the recall due to an issue with the front turn signals.
Issue with Turn Signals
Karma explains that the headlamp turn signal functions intermittently due to a fault in the indicator circuit. The turn signal may stay active longer than commanded by the Vehicle Control Module, leading to sporadic issues. Data suggests the problem occurs at an average rate of 2.3 – 3.8 times per vehicle per month.
Resolution
Owners of affected Revero models will be notified by a warning light on the instrument panel and a fast-blinking turn signal. While the issue has not caused any damage or injuries, Karma has instructed dealers to replace the headlights with updated software at no cost to owners. The recall is set to begin on July 25.
New Electric Model
This recall comes shortly after Karma introduced its first fully electric model, the Gyesera. Based on the Revero platform, the Gyesera features a new powertrain with a 120 kWh battery pack and a powerful rear-mounted electric motor generating 590 hp and 693 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.2 seconds and has a top speed exceeding 135 mph.
