Acura June Sales Drop 21% Except RDX | Giga Gears

Acura Sales Decline Due to Changes at Ohio Plant

Overview

Acura’s U.S. sales have taken a hit, with a 13.1% decline year-to-date compared to last year. The downward trend continued in June, with sales dropping by 21.4%. Despite a 10.8% increase in Q2 sales compared to Q1, the overall figures are concerning.

Sales Figures

  • Acura sold 64,015 vehicles in the U.S. in the first half of 2024.
  • RDX sales have seen a notable increase of 28.4% year-to-date.

Model-Specific Sales

While Acura’s RDX model has seen positive growth, other models like the TLX and Integra have experienced significant declines in sales. TLX sales dropped by 55.6%, and Integra sales fell by 17.4% compared to the same period last year.

Reasons for Decline

Acura attributed the sales declines to changes at its Ohio Plant, where the TLX and Integra are assembled. The reconfiguration of the plant’s assembly lines impacted production and contributed to the decrease in sales.

Future Outlook

Despite the challenges, Acura remains optimistic about its lineup. The company has introduced new models like the all-electric ZDX, which has shown promising sales figures. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Acura aims to bounce back from the recent sales decline.
