Alpina B3 and B3 Touring Spotted Testing at Nürburgring

Spy photographers recently captured camouflaged Alpina B3 and B3 Touring models undergoing testing at the Nürburgring. Despite the disguise, no significant styling changes are visible on the prototypes.

Possible Update Linked to BMW 3 Series Refresh

The timing of these spy shots coincides with rumors of a light refresh for the regular BMW 3 Series this summer. While Alpina introduced a facelifted B3 model two years ago, it seems another update may be in the works, with speculations of a more powerful variant also circulating.

Interior Focus for Potential Changes

Although the exterior of the Alpina prototypes remains unchanged, reports suggest that any updates could be concentrated on the interior. This aligns with expectations for the BMW 3 Series refresh, which is anticipated to include minor enhancements like an Iconic Glow grille and updated wheels.

Current Alpina B3 Performance Specs

The current Alpina B3 is equipped with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 488 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the sedan can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 mph.
