Alpine A110 R: A Track-Ready Sports Car with Enhanced Performance

The Alpine A110 R is not just your average mid-engined two-seater sports car. It represents a significant leap for its manufacturer and a departure from the norm for the Alpine A110. While other car brands may simply drop a bigger or more powerful engine into a special derivative to boost performance, Alpine takes a different approach.

Alpine has a rich history rooted in compact sports cars that excel in road driving. Founder Jean Rédélé’s successes in Alpine Rallies led to the development of sports cars that prioritized modest size, lightweight construction, and specific suspension tuning. These characteristics made Alpine cars well-suited for road use, and big power was never the main focus.

When the Alpine brand was revived 50 years later, it stayed true to its roots by introducing the A110, a sports car designed and engineered for road driving. The A110’s narrow width, modest wheel sizes, mid-engined chassis, and carefully tuned suspension set it apart from other performance cars on the market.

Now, with the introduction of the Alpine A110 R, Dieppe (Alpine’s manufacturing facility) is pushing the boundaries even further. As the base model enters its later years, Dieppe has been able to explore new possibilities and create a track-focused version of the A110.

The A110 R joins the existing lineup of A110 models, which includes the base model, the A110 S, and the A110 GT. Alpine has also released special editions such as the San Remo 73, S Enstone Edition, and R Le Mans. With the A110 R, Alpine has fully extended its derivative range for the A110.

The entry-level A110 comes with standard 17-inch wheels, while features like parking sensors, a reversing camera, sports exhaust, and Brembo performance brakes are optional extras. The A110 R offers additional upgrades such as premium audio, special paint options, and Alpine’s Ultralight R pack.

With its enhanced performance, lightweight construction, and aerodynamic improvements, the Alpine A110 R is ready to take on the track. It’s a testament to Alpine’s commitment to delivering exceptional driving experiences while staying true to its heritage.
