When you think of military vehicles, a Tesla Cybertruck probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. However, Archimedes Defense and Up.Fit are challenging that notion with their new creation, the Sting. This vehicle is built upon the foundation of the Tesla Cybertruck and is specifically designed to be an “apocalypse-ready” vehicle suitable for government and civilian use.
The companies behind the Sting acknowledge that electric military vehicles may not be the most practical choice. As a result, the Sting Baja model features a frunk-mounted “AMP Drive G125TM aviation-derived 800V genset” that can run on jet fuel, diesel, or biodiesel. It is also capable of charging not only the Cybertruck but other electric vehicles at up to 125 kW.
The Sting Baja will offer an optional off-road mod package, which includes undisclosed parts from Unplugged Performance. Additionally, there are plans for an optional amphibious package in the future.
For those seeking a more adventurous experience, the Sting Protector is the ideal choice. It comes with the off-road package and “bolt-on, bolt-off external offset steel armor plating” capable of withstanding rounds from a 7.62mm assault rifle. The Sting Protector is designed for individual, corporate, and government use in moderate threat environments and will be available with or without the generator.
The Sting APC takes protection to the next level by adding IED and mine protection. Its steel and ceramic armor plating can withstand 14.5mm heavy machine gun fire, making it suitable for high threat environments. However, the generator is an additional option for this variant.
