British Man Sentenced to Prison After Dangerous Police Chase in Cornwall

The Chase

The dashcam footage shows that police attempted to pull over an uninsured white Audi A3 (or possibly an S3), but the driver refused to stop and instead decided to flee. The driver accelerated and reached speeds of over 60 mph (96 km/h), driving down the center of the road and weaving through traffic.

As the chase continued, the Audi driver ventured onto the wrong side of the road and accelerated to 100 mph (160 km/h). The pursuing officer described the chase as “high risk” over the radio. At one point, the Audi driver nearly collided head-on with a VW Passat, forcing the Passat to swerve into the roadside bushes to avoid a crash.
