As cars become increasingly loaded with screens, Audi is taking inspiration from smartphones with the introduction of Audi Themes and the Audi App Store for American drivers. These features are now available through the MMI infotainment system in select 2023-2024 vehicles.
Customize Your Screen with Audi Themes
Audi Themes is a new feature that allows owners to personalize their screen with new wallpapers. Specially curated for customers, these themes depict far-flung landscapes, animals, and shapes, enhancing the overall vibe of the vehicle interior. In addition to these options, Audi will also offer seasonal themes to celebrate big holidays. Furthermore, the company plans to introduce themes inspired by popular movie characters in the near future.
Extend the Theme to Your Cabin
More than just a screen background, Audi Themes also extend into the rest of the vehicle’s cabin if it is equipped with the optional Ambient Light Package plus. This feature changes the color of the interior lights to better suit the subject matter of the theme.
Download Apps with the Audi App Store
In addition to Audi Themes, Audi has launched its new Audi App Store. This store allows owners to download apps directly through the infotainment screen. The store offers a wide range of programs dedicated to music, video, gaming, navigation, parking, charging, productivity, weather, news, and more.
Accessing the Audi App Store
The Audi App Store is available in vehicles equipped with the latest MIB 3 software. To access the store, a subscription to Audi connect PLUS with Wi-Fi is required.
How to Get Audi Themes and Access the Audi App Store
Audi Themes can be obtained through the myAudi Marketplace or the myAudi smartphone app. The cost for Audi Themes is a one-time fee of $12.99 (plus taxes and fees). It’s important to note that these themes are specific to the vehicle they are purchased for and are not transferable.
