Bryan Hardeman, a prominent Austin businessman and dealership group owner, is currently facing multiple felony arson charges. The allegations suggest that he intentionally set fire to properties he once considered purchasing. This marks his second arrest this year related to arson, with a court date set for June 12.

Hardeman’s Business Ventures

Residents of Austin, Texas are familiar with Bryan Hardeman’s legacy as a co-founder of Continental Automotive in the 1960s. The company owns a variety of dealerships, including Subaru, Mercedes, Audi, Honda, Infiniti, Jeep, and more.

Recent Arrests and Allegations

Despite retiring in 2017, Hardeman finds himself entangled in legal troubles due to suspected arson incidents. The Austin Fire Department claims that the fires were deliberately started. His initial arrest in February was in connection to a fire at a closed bike shop in downtown Austin. Security footage captured an individual matching Hardeman’s description pouring gasoline and setting the property ablaze.

Additional Charges and Investigations

Following his first arrest, Hardeman was taken into custody again on April 24 for multiple arson charges. Authorities believe he is responsible for fires on Christmas day, February 17th, and February 20th. Each incident targeted properties linked to his past business interests.

Response and Legal Proceedings

In response to his father’s arrest, Will Hardeman, Bryan’s son and managing partner of Continental Automotive, stated that they are working to discern the truth amidst the serious allegations. The case continues to unfold as investigations progress.
