BMW M2 upgraded to 473bhp in 2 Series facelift

BMW M2 2024 Update: More Power, More Performance

Increased Power and Performance

BMW’s M division has enhanced the power and performance of the M2 with a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight six engine, now producing 473bhp and 443lb ft of torque. This upgrade brings the M2 in line with the power output of the manual M3 and M4 models.

Improved Acceleration

The 2024 BMW M2 can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.0 seconds with the eight-speed M Steptronic automatic gearbox, or 4.2 seconds with the optional six-speed manual transmission. The 0-124mph times have also improved, with the auto M2 achieving it in 12.9 seconds and the manual in 13.7 seconds.

Optional M Driver’s Package

For those seeking even more speed, the optional M Driver’s package can raise the top speed of the M2 from 155mph to an impressive 177mph.

Enhanced Design and Features

While the styling remains largely unchanged, the 2024 BMW M2 now offers an extended range of vibrant colors and new wheel designs. Inside, drivers will find a new flat-bottomed steering wheel with an optional Alcantara rim and an updated digital operating system with the latest iDrive technology.

Transition to Petrol Power

The M2 refresh is part of a wider update for the 2 Series lineup, which now exclusively features petrol-powered engines. This shift follows the trend set by other BMW models like the 1 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, and 5 Series in phasing out diesel options.

Production and Pricing

The BMW M2 will continue to be produced alongside the standard 2 Series Coupé models at BMW’s factory in San Luis, Mexico. While pricing for the updated model has not yet been confirmed, UK sales are expected to begin in August starting at £63,360.
