Introducing the New BMW X2 M35i: A Review of the 2024 Model

The latest generation of the BMW X2 has made its debut, featuring an impressive M35i performance model as part of its lineup. This new model boasts a powerful 296bhp petrol engine and is priced at £47,395, positioning it at the top of the X2 range.

Engine Performance and Specifications

The M35i is equipped with a reworked version of BMW’s B48 engine, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol unit with variable valve and camshaft timing. It delivers 296bhp and 295lb ft of torque, slightly less than its predecessor due to emissions-reducing measures. In comparison to its rival, the Mercedes-AMG GLA 35, the M35i offers similar power but lacks a mild-hybrid system.

Features and Design

The M35i comes with four-wheel drive as standard and is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It features a mechanical limited-slip differential and various driver assistance systems calibrated to M specifications. The new model has a larger body, adding to its length, width, and height, making it slightly heavier than its predecessor.

In terms of design, the X2 retains its distinctive five-door, coupé-like profile with a liftback-style tailgate. The M35i stands out with a uniquely styled front bumper, larger air ducts, and a more prominent splitter. It also features M-specific mirror housings, door sills, and a larger rear spoiler. The rear bumper has been reprofiled to include a larger diffuser and quad-tailpipe treatment.

Overall, the new BMW X2 M35i offers impressive performance and a sleek design that sets it apart from its competitors. With its powerful engine and advanced features, it is sure to appeal to enthusiasts looking for a thrilling driving experience.
