School Bus Triggers Multi-Car Pile-Up in Boston’s Hyde Park
Incident Caught on Camera
A school bus was caught on camera causing a multi-car pile-up in Boston’s Hyde Park. Fortunately, there were no school students on the bus at the time.
Chain Reaction Crash
The incident, captured by the doorbell camera of a nearby resident, shows a large Boston Public Schools bus hitting the rear of an SUV parked on the side of the road. The bus then continued to move forward, pushing the SUV into another vehicle, resulting in a chain reaction involving five vehicles, including a black Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Possible Acceleration Malfunction
Local authorities are currently investigating the crash. According to an individual familiar with the investigation, the driver of the school bus may have experienced an acceleration malfunction.
No Serious Injuries
Three people, including a child, were hit in the incident. They were transported to a local hospital but did not sustain serious injuries.
Mayor’s Response
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted regarding the crash. She emphasized the importance of understanding all the details surrounding the incident involving a city vehicle.
Witness Accounts
Witness Naomi Ramirez described the crash as loud and happening very quickly. She saw a child on the ground, bleeding from her head. Another witness, 6th grader Michael Ward, revealed that one of the cars involved belonged to his gym teacher. Many of his classmates were left distraught and crying as the injured child was a student at their school.
