Cadillac to introduce two new electric vehicles in UK by 2024

Cadillac to Launch Two New EVs in the UK by End of 2024

Cadillac is set to make a splash in the UK market later this year with the introduction of two new electric vehicles. The Optiq, aimed at competing with the Audi Q4 E-tron, will hit the market in the autumn, followed by the luxurious Lyriq, which will take on the BMW iX as its flagship model. Both EVs will be manufactured in the US and then shipped to Europe for sale.

This move marks a significant shift for Cadillac in Europe, a market where the brand has struggled to establish a strong presence. Currently, Cadillac only offers the XT4 crossover in the UK, with limited availability and options. However, with the introduction of the Optiq and Lyriq, Cadillac is looking to expand its offerings across various segments.

General Motors Europe boss Jaclyn McQuaid highlighted the flexibility of the Ultium platform, which allows for easier adaptation to right-hand drive markets like the UK. This opens up opportunities for Cadillac to introduce more models tailored to European customers.

The UK is seen as a strategically important market for GM Europe, with plans for further expansion and growth in the future. McQuaid hinted at upcoming announcements regarding Cadillac’s presence in the UK, including the possibility of a dealer network roll-out by the end of 2024.

Stay tuned for more updates as Cadillac makes its mark in the UK with its new lineup of electric vehicles.
