Accelerating EV Development

Cadillac is ramping up its electric vehicle (EV) development thanks to General Motors’ (GM) investments in electrification. The luxury automaker has confirmed the arrival of another gas-free model in 2025 – the Optiq. This compact electric SUV will join Cadillac’s lineup, positioned below the Lyriq and flagship Escalade IQ.

Sleek Design and Features

While Cadillac has not released many details about the Optiq, an image of the upcoming EV showcases its sleek design. The vehicle features Cadillac’s signature vertical LED running lights and a muscular shape reminiscent of the larger Lyriq. The blacked-out style on the C- and D-pillars gives the roof a floating appearance.

Ultium Technology and Performance

The Optiq is expected to share similarities in size and shape with the recently released Equinox EV, thanks to General Motors’ Ultium technology. This advanced platform underpins various EVs across GM’s brands, including the Lyriq, Escalade IQ, and Celestiq. With a range estimate of around 300 miles and fast-charging capabilities, the Optiq promises impressive performance.

Pricing and Release Date

While specific pricing and release date details have not been provided by Cadillac, the Optiq will serve as an entry point to the brand’s electric vehicle lineup. Considering the base Lyriq Tech trim starts at just under $59,000, it is reasonable to expect the Optiq to be priced in the low to mid-$50,000 range.
