Incident Reports
Stellantis identified seven fire incidents involving the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, occurring while the vehicles were off or during recharging. Some customers reported smoke inhalation symptoms.
Cause of Fires
Engineers determined that the fires resulted from abnormal battery cell conditions. The risk is reduced when the battery is depleted, prompting owners not to charge their vehicles.
Solution and Updates
A software update will detect the abnormality, with affected owners receiving free battery replacements. Owners are advised to park their vehicles away from structures until the issue is resolved.
