### Cupra Expanding to North America with Electric Models
Cupra, the Spanish performance brand under the VW Group, is set to make its mark in North America by the end of the decade. With plans to introduce two electric models, including an electric version of the Formentor crossover and a larger electric SUV, Cupra is gearing up for its next chapter.
### The Terramar: Cupra’s Last Combustion-Powered Vehicle
The upcoming addition to Cupra’s lineup, the Terramar, draws inspiration from the historic racing circuit Autódromo de Sitges-Terramar in Barcelona. Built on the same platform as the European VW Tiguan, the Terramar will be the last new vehicle from Cupra with combustion power. Production will take place at Audi’s Gyor plant in Hungary alongside the Formentor.
### Power and Performance
Equipped with 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engines, some with mild-hybrid technology and others with full PHEV assistance, the Terramar promises a dynamic driving experience. All-wheel drive will be optional, while a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox will be standard.
### Interior and Design
Sportiness is at the forefront of Cupra’s design philosophy, with the Terramar expected to feature a driver-focused interior similar to the Tavascan. A V-shaped blade across the dashboard and a dual-screen layout reminiscent of the Tiguan are anticipated highlights.
### Arrival in 2024
The Terramar is scheduled for release in the second half of 2024, marking a significant milestone for Cupra as it transitions towards electrification. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to the Cupra lineup.
