Czinger to Launch Urus-Inspired Super SUV

American luxury start-up Czinger is set to release a go-anywhere super-SUV, following the unveiling of its Hyper GT saloon. The SUV will replace the Hyper GT as the brand’s second car and is expected to feature similar powertrain capabilities.

The Hyper GT saloon, showcased last year as a two-door, four-seat concept, boasted an impressive 1233bhp twin-turbocharged 2.88-litre hybridised V8 engine. However, Czinger’s founder, Kevin Czinger, revealed that the SUV could take its place as the brand’s next model.

Czinger hinted that the new model would be a powerful super-SUV, drawing inspiration from the Lamborghini Urus. He also mentioned plans for “off-road-on-road” vehicles, indicating that the SUV would have the capability to tackle various terrains.

The SUV is expected to feature Czinger’s signature powertrain, which delivers 1233bhp and can rev up to 11,000rpm. This power enables the 21C hypercar to achieve impressive acceleration figures, including a 0-62mph time of 1.9 seconds and a top speed of 253mph. While the SUV may not reach these heights due to its larger size and weight, it is still expected to offer impressive performance.

In terms of design, the SUV is likely to follow the sleek and aerodynamic aesthetic of the rest of the Czinger range. It may feature a similar face to the 21C and Hyper GT concept, with a low-slung, wide nose and LED lights integrated into the grille. The SUV’s silhouette may include a long sloping roofline and honeycomb bodystyling.

Inside the SUV, details are scarce as little was revealed about the Hyper GT’s interior. However, it is expected to accommodate four adults comfortably with ample leg and headroom. The latest technology is also likely to be incorporated into the cabin.

Czinger has confirmed that the SUV will be sold in left-hand drive only to reduce production costs. Like its siblings, production will be limited to just 1000 units, and the SUV is expected to have a price tag ranging from $750,000 to $1 million.

Following the SUV, Czinger plans to explore alternative-fuel powertrains, starting with hybrid options before moving towards fully electric vehicles. However, the brand’s boss noted that the technology for a Czinger-style EV is not quite there yet.

When asked about the brand’s aspirations, Czinger compared Czinger to Lamborghini in terms of portfolio diversity. He explained that the initial idea was to create an ultimate road-track car like the 21C hypercar and then expand the brand’s offerings to include vehicles in different performance categories.

Czinger aims to establish itself as a prominent car company by building a portfolio of unique and high-performance vehicles. With the launch of the Urus-inspired super SUV, Czinger is taking another step towards achieving this goal.

In conclusion, Czinger’s upcoming super SUV promises to deliver exceptional performance and off-road capabilities. With its sleek design and powerful powertrain, it is set to make a statement in the luxury SUV segment. Car enthusiasts can expect a thrilling driving experience and cutting-edge technology from this American luxury start-up.
