Dodge Teases New Charger Pursuit Police Car Concept

The highly anticipated eighth-generation Dodge Charger is set to replace both the two-door Challenger and the four-door Charger. Dodge has now released a teaser for the Charger Pursuit, a police car version of the new model.

Continuing the Legacy

The new Charger Pursuit will build upon the legacy of its predecessor as a reliable and powerful police car. Law enforcement agencies in the United States have shown great interest in the outgoing Charger, making it a popular choice among police vehicles.

Teaser Reveals Electric Version

A recent teaser shared on Instagram by the Dodge Law account showcases the fully electric Charger Pursuit concept. The vehicle features police livery, strobe lights on the roof, and the phrase “to protect and to serve” boldly displayed on the hood.

Fit for Police Duty

With the decline of four-door sedans in the police vehicle market, Dodge remains the only automaker offering a sedan suitable for law enforcement. The Charger Pursuit is a fitting choice for police duty, providing the necessary space for transporting individuals in the back seats.

Powertrain Options

The electric Charger Daytona variant of the Pursuit concept boasts a dual electric motor setup, delivering between 456 hp and 670 hp. It offers a range of up to 317 miles in its most efficient form. Additionally, Dodge may also offer an ICE-powered Charger Sixpack variant with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine producing between 420-550 hp.

Debut at IACP Annual Conference

The Charger Pursuit concept is expected to make its debut at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference and Exposition in October 2024. This event, taking place in Boston, is a significant gathering for law enforcement professionals.
