Drunk Driver Allegedly Finishes Beer After PIT and Roll | Giga Gears

Arkansas Police Use PIT Maneuver to Stop Suspect

Police departments across the country are constantly faced with the challenge of protecting the public. In Arkansas, it seems that they rely on the PIT maneuver more frequently than other states. The recent incident involved a suspect who not only evaded the police but also finished a beer before being arrested. The suspect is now facing multiple serious charges.

Police Chase Ends with Dramatic PIT Maneuver

The incident took place in Forrest City, which is located approximately two hours from Little Rock. The Arkansas State Police (ASP) received information about a Dodge Ram truck that was evading the local police department after a traffic violation. ASP officers joined the pursuit and eventually used a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), commonly known as a PIT maneuver, to stop the suspect.

Suspect’s Reckless Actions Caught on Dashcam

As a result of the PIT maneuver, the truck flipped over and rolled before coming to a stop in a ditch. Despite the wreckage, the driver managed to climb out of the vehicle. Shockingly, he reached for a can of Busch beer and appeared to finish it, as seen in the dashcam video.

The suspect’s actions were captured on video, clearly showing him drinking the beer. It appears that he believed being intoxicated would somehow make his arrest more bearable. However, his actions did not prevent him from facing a long list of charges, including driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, driving without a seatbelt, driving without liability insurance, driving with an open container, drinking on the highway, improper lane change, failure to obey a traffic control device, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Drinking and Driving: A Dangerous Combination

Drinking and driving is an extremely dangerous and irresponsible act. The suspect’s decision to continue drinking even after the PIT maneuver demonstrates a complete disregard for the safety of others on the road. It serves as a reminder for everyone to stay vigilant and prioritize safety while driving.
