Electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class Now Available in the UK

The highly anticipated electric version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has officially been released in the UK, with prices starting at £180,860.

Powerful and Stylish

The electric G580 boasts the same stunning design as its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts. However, under the hood, it features a quad-motor powertrain that delivers an impressive 579bhp and 859lb ft of torque.

Impressive Range and Charging Capabilities

Equipped with a massive 116kWh battery, the G580 offers a range of up to 292 miles on a single charge. It also supports fast charging at rates of up to 200kW.

Edition One Trim

Currently, the G580 is only available in Edition One trim in the UK. This variant weighs 3085kg and offers a luxurious driving experience.

Other G-Class Options

In addition to the electric G580, Mercedes-Benz has also released the petrol and diesel versions of the updated G-Class. The entry-level G450 diesel is priced at £136,690, the petrol G500 at £146,095, and the AMG G53 at £184,595.

Wider Update to Mercedes’ UK Line-Up

Mercedes has made significant updates to its UK line-up, including the reintroduction of the diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain for the E-Class. The E300de combines a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with a 127bhp electric motor and a 19.5kWh battery, offering a total output of 308bhp and 516lb ft of torque.

The GLE SUV also offers a similar powertrain option, featuring a larger 24.8kWh battery and outputs of 329bhp and 553lb ft of torque. However, the electric range is slightly reduced to a maximum of 63 miles. The GLE 350de is priced at £77,360.

Refinement Package and Revised EQS

Mercedes has introduced an optional Refinement Package for the E-Class, EQE, and GLC models. This package replaces the steel suspension with an air-sprung system and adds rear-wheel steering to the E-Class.

The revised EQS saloon, equipped with a new 118kWh battery that extends its range to 481 miles, is also now available. The starting price for the EQS 450+ is £112,610, while the Business Class version with the traditional S-Class-style grille is priced at £119,610.

Maybach Variant of the EQS SUV

For those seeking the ultimate luxury, the Maybach variant of the larger EQS SUV has been launched with a price tag of £200,860.
