Electric MG Bee and V8 MGB Restomod Featured on Giga Gears

Frontline Cars Introduces Restomod MGB GTs: The LE60 and MG Bee

Frontline Cars has unveiled two stunning restomod versions of the classic MGB GT, both available in the attractive hardtop GT form. The LE60 is a V8-powered hot rod, while the MG Bee is an all-electric version that retains its manual transmission. These modernized MGBs offer a perfect blend of classic style and contemporary performance.

Weight Distribution and Power

One of the standout features of these restomod MGB GTs is their impressive weight distribution. Frontline Cars has managed to achieve a perfect 50/50 weight split, whether you choose the electric MG Bee or the V8-powered LE60. This balance enhances the sports car’s handling and agility, making it a joy to drive.

The LE60 is equipped with a powerful Rover V8 engine that delivers an impressive 375 horsepower (280 kW/380 PS) and 297 lb-ft (403 Nm) of torque. This is nearly four times more power than the original engine. With a five-speed Tremec transmission and a limited-slip differential, the LE60 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just four seconds flat.

On the other hand, the MG Bee offers a more relaxed driving experience. Its electric powertrain provides 114 horsepower (85 kW/115 PS) and 162 lb-ft (220 Nm) of torque. This allows the MG Bee to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.8 seconds, faster than the original MGB’s capabilities.

Unique Transmission and Battery

What sets the MG Bee apart from other electric conversions is its manual transmission. The motor’s torque delivery is designed to mimic that of an internal combustion engine, allowing drivers to fully engage with the driving experience. While the motor cannot stall, owners can still shift through the gears to take advantage of the electric motor’s torque curve, which peaks at 9,000 RPM.

The MG Bee is powered by a 40 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 140 miles (225 km). Recharging the battery takes approximately five hours using a domestic 7 kW charger. This ensures that owners can enjoy extended drives without worrying about running out of power.

Impeccable Restoration and Limited Availability

Frontline Cars is committed to delivering top-notch quality and craftsmanship. Both the LE60 and MG Bee undergo thorough restoration processes, ensuring that every aspect of the car is perfected. The bodywork is meticulously refined, and the interior is adorned with high-quality materials such as leather.

While the MG Bee and LE60 are set to be delivered in 2024, Frontline Cars plans to produce only 30 examples of the V8-powered hot rod. This limited availability adds exclusivity to an already exceptional vehicle. Additionally, Frontline Cars offers restoration services for individuals who already own an MGB and wish to transform it into a modern masterpiece.

In conclusion, Frontline Cars has once again impressed car enthusiasts with their restomod MGB GTs. The LE60 and MG Bee offer a perfect blend of classic design and modern performance. Whether you prefer the raw power of the V8 or the eco-friendly nature of the electric motor, these restomods are sure to turn heads on the road. With impeccable restoration and limited availability, owning one of these Frontline Cars creations is a dream come true for any car enthusiast.
