Icon Unveils the Reformer: A $1.1 Million Custom Chevy Suburban
Icon, known for its high-end custom resto-modded SUVs, has taken customization to a whole new level with its latest creation – the Reformer. This hand-built SUV boasts an impressive 1,000 horsepower and comes with a staggering starting price of $1.1 million.
While the price tag may seem shocking, it’s important to note that this is a one-of-a-kind vehicle commissioned by a wealthy Icon customer. Jonathon Ward, CEO of Icon, explained, “This client wanted us to stretch creatively, which resulted in more aggressive performance and styling than we typically opt for.”
Icon will officially unveil the 1970 Suburban, dubbed the Reformer, on November 19th at a charity event in Southern California. The SUV started as a factory three-door model and underwent extensive modifications to transform it into a powerhouse on wheels.
Unmatched Performance and Reliability
The Reformer is equipped with an NRE twin-turbo Alien LS 427 motor, delivering an impressive 1,000 horsepower and 900 pound-feet of torque. Icon focused on ensuring reliability with this setup, allowing the driver to idle with the AC on in traffic at just 900 rpm.
For enhanced performance and handling, Icon utilized a custom four-wheel independent chassis. Power is transferred to the wheels through a 4L85 automatic transmission. Brembo brakes, HRE custom wheels, and performance tires ensure the SUV stays firmly on the road and stops safely.
Luxurious Interior and Attention to Detail
The Reformer’s interior is a testament to Icon’s commitment to craftsmanship. Every button, knob, and dial has been meticulously designed and crafted. The SUV features several hand-made bespoke touches, adding a touch of luxury to the already impressive vehicle.
