“Ferrari PHEV Warranty: Battery Replacement Twice”

Ferrari Introduces New Extended Warranty Plans for Plug-In Hybrids

Plug-in hybrids offer a blend of performance and efficiency, but their battery packs can be costly to replace. For example, replacing the battery in a Jeep Wrangler 4xe can cost over $15,000. This cost factor has led Ferrari to introduce two new extended warranty plans for their plug-in hybrid models.

Extended Warranty Options

  • Ferrari is offering two new extended warranty plans for plug-in hybrids.
  • Customers who choose these plans will receive a free battery replacement during their 8th and 16th year of ownership.
  • Pricing details have not been disclosed, but reports suggest the plans could cost around $7,500 annually.

Warranty Coverage

The new warranty plans, named Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid, aim to ensure the long-term performance and excellence of Ferrari’s hybrid sports cars. The Warranty Extension Hybrid program covers battery replacement up to the eighth year of ownership, while the Power Hybrid plan extends coverage to major powertrain components, including the high-voltage battery pack, up to the 16th year.

If advancements in battery technology occur during the warranty period, Ferrari will provide owners with a new, state-of-the-art battery pack to maintain performance levels.

Transferable Warranties

These extended warranties are transferable to subsequent owners and can be activated by any official Ferrari dealer. Even vehicles currently out of their factory warranty are eligible, subject to a technical inspection by Ferrari dealer personnel.

Cost Considerations

While pricing details are yet to be confirmed, previous reports suggest that the annual cost of the warranty plans could be around $7,500. The peace of mind provided by these warranties ensures that Ferrari plug-in hybrid owners can enjoy their vehicles without the worry of unexpected repair costs.
