“Fiat launches affordable Qashqai and Rav4 rivals with ICE and EV options”

Fiat Set to Launch Affordable SUV and Compact Crossover Models

In the next few years, Fiat will be introducing two new C-segment cars to its lineup – a spacious family SUV and a stylish compact crossover. These new models are part of Fiat’s strategy to offer a more diverse range of affordable vehicles, following the recent debut of the Fiat Grande Panda supermini.

The SUV and Fastback, as they are currently known, were unveiled as concept cars during Fiat’s 125th-anniversary celebrations. The production versions are set to hit the market in 2025 and 2026, with Fiat committing to launching a new car every year until 2027.

Both models will target the C-Segment, with Fiat’s CEO Olivier François emphasizing the importance of providing roomy and family-friendly options. The SUV is described as a “giga-Panda” focusing on practicality, while the Fastback offers a sporty flair reminiscent of the Tipo hatchback and estate models.

These new Fiats will share the Smart Car platform with Citroën’s C3, allowing for a range of powertrain options including pure-combustion, hybrid, and electric. While specific details on the powertrains have yet to be confirmed, Fiat is expected to offer competitive pricing to appeal to a wide range of customers.

François stated, “Our customers want iconic and affordable city cars, frugal and inclusive compacts, family mobility.” With prices projected to start below £30,000 for the SUV and £25,000 for the Fastback, Fiat is poised to offer attractive options in the competitive C-segment market.
