Fisker Alaska: Electric Pick-Up Truck Reveals New Details

Fisker Announces Pricing and Specifications for New Electric Pick-Up Truck

Fisker has recently unveiled pricing and specification details for its upcoming electric pick-up truck, the Fisker Alaska. Set to be launched in 2025 alongside the Fisker Ronin GT and Fisker Pear hatchback, the Alaska aims to offer a competitive price and impressive range.

Priced from $45,400 (£35,723), the Fisker Alaska will come with two battery options: a 75kWh battery and a 113kWh battery. The 75kWh battery will provide a range of 230 miles, while the larger 113kWh battery will offer an extended range of 340 miles. These ranges are made possible by the same Hyper Range pack found in the recently launched Fisker Ocean SUV.

While power figures have not been confirmed yet, Fisker claims that the Alaska will be capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in times ranging from 3.9 seconds to 7.2 seconds, depending on the chosen electric motor. It is expected that the Alaska will feature similar motors to its SUV sibling, which offer up to 564bhp and 544lb ft of torque in its most extreme specification.

Built on Fisker’s own FT31 platform, an extended version of the structure used in the Ocean, the Alaska is designed to be the world’s lightest and most sustainable pick-up truck. Measuring 17.4ft long, slightly larger than the Ocean, the Alaska will drive similarly to its SUV counterpart and will be available with a choice of 20-inch and 22-inch wheels.

The cargo bed of the Alaska measures 1.37m at its smallest size but can be extended to 2.28m and further to 2.80m. Additionally, a Houdini divider will connect the cargo bed and rear cabin. Inside, the Alaska features wooden trim on the dashboard, back seats with a cowboy-hat holder, and a California window-dropping mode, similar to the Ocean. The car also boasts the world’s largest cupholder, ample storage space for work gloves, flashlights, and pens, as well as a tablet holder and a large central armrest.

When it arrives in 2025, the Fisker Alaska will enter a segment with few rivals. Key competitors will include the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and Tesla Cybertruck. However, the Alaska is expected to significantly undercut several of its rivals in terms of pricing.

During the Product Vision Day, Henrik Fisker, the founder and boss of Fisker, expressed his excitement about the Alaska’s unique features. He stated, “We wanted to have a pick-up that had both the pick-up truck efficiency and usability but also one that’s a great driver’s car – great roadholding, great ride and fun to drive. It’s going to be really dynamic and very responsive, with the convenience of a pick-up truck. We thought ‘let’s do something really unique’.”

With its competitive pricing, impressive range, and unique features, the Fisker Alaska is set to make a splash in the electric pick-up truck market when it launches in 2025. Car enthusiasts and eco-conscious consumers alike can look forward to experiencing the combination of efficiency, usability, and driving performance that Fisker promises to deliver with the Alaska.
