Fisker Delivers First Oceans to Customers in the United States

Fisker, the American electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has delivered the first Oceans to customers in the United States. At an event in California, Fisker delivered 22 Ocean One launch editions to eager customers. The company said the initial batch was shipped to America on an “expedited basis” and “additional deliveries will continue through the summer.”

The Fisker Ocean One Launch Edition

The $68,999 Ocean One is based on the Ocean Extreme and features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces up to 564 hp (421 kW / 572 PS) and 544 lb-ft (737 Nm) of torque in boost mode. This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in four seconds, before hitting a top speed of 127 mph (205 km/h).

Power is provided by a 113 kWh battery pack, which gives the crossover an EPA range of 360 miles (579 km) when riding on the standard 20-inch wheels. The launch edition also comes equipped with heated front and rear seats, a digital rearview mirror, a SolarSky roof, and a 17.1-inch infotainment system.

CEO Henrik Fisker said, “We have been waiting for this moment ever since we started the development of the Fisker Ocean in October 2020.” He acknowledged there were bumps in the road but stated, “We’re grateful our customers have been patient with us as we dealt with a longer-than-expected certification period earlier this year, and we’re happy their patience is now starting to be rewarded.”

Fisker’s Future Plans

Fisker has big plans for the future, with plans to launch a new electric pickup truck and an electric SUV. The company is also planning to build a factory in the United States to produce its electric vehicles. The factory is expected to be operational by 2025 and will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles.
