“Fisker Ocean EVs on Sale for $2,500-$16,500 | Giga Gears”

The Fisker Ocean Fire Sale: Remaining EVs Priced at $2,500 to $16,500

Bankrupt Fisker Seeks Approval to Sell Remaining Ocean EVs

Fisker, a company that recently filed for bankruptcy, is looking to sell its remaining inventory of 3,231 Ocean electric vehicles to American Lease for $46.3 million. The deal includes varying prices based on the condition of the vehicles, ranging from $16.5k for those in “good working order” to as low as $2.5k for damaged units.

American Lease to Acquire Fisker Oceans

American Lease, a New York-based leasing firm, has agreed to purchase the Fisker Oceans. Initially signing up for 2,100 units, the order was later increased to 3,321 vehicles. However, the deal is pending court approval, with a deadline set for July 12 to avoid financial strain on Fisker.

Pricing Details for Fisker Oceans

The court filing outlines pricing details for the Fisker Oceans. Vehicles in good working order with a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin are priced at $16,500 each, while previously titled units are offered at $3,200. Damaged examples will be sold for as low as $2,500, with repair costs estimated to exceed $5,000.

Software Updates and Warranty Information

While Fisker will not honor warranties or provide repairs for the sold vehicles, they will offer software updates to American Lease. The damaged units could serve as a source of parts for the leasing fleet, extending their lifespan on the road. The deal also includes reimbursement for software update costs.

Historical Context and Impact on Pricing

The Fisker Ocean, once priced between $40-70k, saw a significant drop in price to $25k earlier this year due to financial difficulties. If approved, the current deal would mark a new low for the electric SUV that aimed to compete with the Tesla Model Y.
