Fisker Ocean Recall: Power Loss and Warning Lights Issue Fixed with OTA Patch

Fisker Ocean SUV Recalled for Safety Concerns in North America and Europe

Recent recalls have been issued for the Fisker Ocean SUV in North America and Europe due to safety concerns. Fortunately, these issues can be easily resolved with a software update.

Recall Details

The first recall affects 11,201 Ocean SUVs in the US, Canada, and Europe. The motor-control unit and vehicle-control unit software may enter a safe-state protection mode, causing the vehicle to lose power. This poses a potential safety risk that will be addressed through an over-the-air update.

The second recall is limited to the US and Canada, involving 6,864 Ocean SUVs. These vehicles have incorrect fonts, font sizes, and colors for warning lights on the dashboard, including small font sizes for brake, park, and ABS warning indicators. The brake warning lights are also amber instead of red as required. An over-the-air update will rectify these issues.

Resolution and Timeline

Fisker has announced that the software updates to address these recalls will be completed by June 30. Owners can expect a quick resolution to ensure the safety and functionality of their vehicles.

As the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Transport Canada work on publishing the recalls on their websites, more details will become available. It remains unclear if all Ocean SUVs are affected or if specific production dates are at risk.

Overall, Fisker is working diligently to address these safety concerns and provide a seamless solution for affected owners.
