Ford CEO Jim Farley Hints at Dark Horse Sub-Brand

During Ford’s second quarter earnings call, CEO Jim Farley made an interesting remark that went unnoticed by many. He referred to Dark Horse as a sub-brand, similar to Raptor and Tremor. This suggests that there may be more Dark Horse variants in the future.

The Current Dark Horse Lineup

Currently, the Dark Horse lineup consists of a $68,275 coupe and a $145,000 race car. However, for Dark Horse to be a true sub-brand, it would likely need to offer more than just these two models.

Possible Future Dark Horse Variants

There have been rumors of a high-performance convertible with a V8 engine and a manual transmission, which could potentially be a Dark Horse variant. Additionally, there has been mention of a Mustang four-door coupe called the Mach-4, which might also receive the Dark Horse treatment.

Expanding the Sub-Brand Portfolio

Ford already has successful sub-brands like Raptor and Tremor, which include various models such as the Bronco Raptor, Ranger Raptor, F-150 Raptor, Maverick Tremor, and F-150 Tremor. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Ranger Tremor make a return to America as well.

Only time will tell what Ford has planned for the Dark Horse sub-brand, but it’s clear that they are looking to expand their lineup and offer more passionate and purposeful vehicles.
