Ford Sees Strong Growth in EV and Hybrid Vehicle Sales

Electric vehicle adoption is on the rise, and Ford is reaping the benefits. In the second quarter, Ford experienced a 61.4% increase in EV sales, totaling 23,957 units. This growth trend continued throughout the year, with a 71.8% increase in year-to-date EV sales, reaching 44,180 units.

Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning Lead the Charge

The Mustang Mach-E saw a significant sales increase of 46.5% in the second quarter, with 12,645 units sold. The F-150 Lightning also performed well, with a sales jump of 76.9% to 7,902 units. The E-Transit also contributed to the growth with a 95.5% increase in sales, totaling 3,410 units.

Hybrid Vehicle Sales on the Rise

In addition to EVs, Ford also experienced a surge in hybrid vehicle sales, with a 55.6% increase totaling 53,822 units. The Maverick Hybrid emerged as a top performer, with 40,420 units sold in the first half of the year.

Challenges in ICE-Powered Lineup

While EVs and hybrids are thriving, Ford faced challenges in its ICE-powered lineup. The Bronco Sport saw a 15.3% decrease in sales, while the Escape fell by 13.2%. The discontinuation of the Edge also impacted sales, despite generating 16,522 units.

Strong Performance Across the Board

Despite some setbacks, Ford’s overall sales remained strong. The current Expedition model saw robust sales of 21,747 units in Q2, while the Maverick and Transit models experienced significant growth. Overall, Ford’s sales performance is indicative of a brand that is adapting well to the changing automotive landscape.
