Genesis to Enter Endurance Racing with New Hypercar

Introduction

Genesis, the luxury carmaker, is set to make its mark in the top division of endurance racing with a new Le Mans Daytona (LMDh) hypercar. The car will compete against renowned rivals such as BMW, Cadillac, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

Partnerships and Development

Hyundai Motorsport will be responsible for developing the car’s internal combustion engine, while French firm Oreca will provide the chassis. The collaboration with Oreca ensures compliance with LMDh rules, which require the use of spec chassis from approved manufacturers.

Timeline

The new Genesis hypercar is expected to be ready for competition as early as 2026. However, an exact date has not yet been confirmed.

Competition

The Genesis hypercar will compete in the World Endurance Championship and the IMSA SportsCar Championship against both LMDh and Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) models. The LMH cars are built from scratch, while LMDh cars utilize spec chassis and common components.
