Giga Gears’ British Firm Launches Ultra-Light, Rapid-Charging EV Sports Car

Nyobolt’s Revolutionary Ultra-Light Rapid Charging EV Sports Car Hits the Road

### The Birth of a Pioneering EV Sports Car
The spirit of the original Lotus Elise lives on in Nyobolt’s groundbreaking EV sports car. This innovative concept has become a reality, showcasing super-fast 350kW charging capabilities.

### Testing Cutting-Edge Battery Technology
UK engineering firm Nyobolt is pushing the boundaries with its ultra-fast-charging and highly durable EV battery technology. The company is currently testing this technology in a drivable version of its Lotus Elise-inspired concept.

### A Glimpse into the Future
Last year, Nyobolt unveiled the Nyobolt concept as a static show car. This 470bhp, 1246kg electric vehicle is a reimagining of the S1 Lotus Elise, designed by Julian Thomson, the man behind the original design.

### Advancements in Battery Technology
Underneath its familiar bodywork, the Nyobolt EV serves as a test bed for a new generation of batteries. These high-density cells and battery management software could revolutionize electric vehicle range, charge times, and longevity.

### Fast-Charging Capabilities
Initial testing of the running prototype has shown that the 35kWh battery can be charged from 10-80% in just 4 minutes and 37 seconds using a 350kW charger. This rapid charging speed surpasses most vehicles on the market today.

### Lightweight Design for Enhanced Performance
Nyobolt’s cell technology minimizes the size and weight of battery packs, with the concept weighing just 1246kg. This lightweight design offers dynamic benefits and improved performance for electric vehicles.

### Future Production Plans
Nyobolt is working with design agency Callum to engineer the prototype for low-volume production. While no specific timelines have been announced, the company aims to offer the vehicle as a road-going sports car or a dedicated track-day toy.

### Industry Interest and Potential Applications
Nyobolt is in discussions with eight vehicle manufacturers interested in adopting this cutting-edge technology. The company sees potential applications beyond passenger cars, including off-highway vehicles and robotics.

### Accelerating EV Adoption
Nyobolt’s CEO, Sai Shivareddy, believes that their technology could address key issues hindering EV adoption. With plans for low-volume battery production starting this year, Nyobolt is poised to revolutionize the electric vehicle industry.
