“Ginetta Akula: V8 Supercar with Manual Shift and Unique Design | Giga Gears”

Ginetta Unveils Its Most Ambitious Road Car Yet: The Akula

Ginetta, the British sports car manufacturer, has unveiled its most ambitious road car to date, the Akula. With a price tag of $360,000, the Akula is the company’s most expensive offering. Despite its unconventional design, the Akula boasts impressive features, including a lightweight carbon chassis, a powerful 6.4-liter V8 engine, and the option of a manual or dual-clutch transmission.

A Revolutionary Design

The Akula’s design may not be to everyone’s taste, but its performance capabilities are hard to ignore. Weighing just 2,600 lbs (1,190 kg), the Akula is equipped with a naturally-aspirated V8 engine that delivers 600 hp (608 PS) to the rear wheels. This power is transmitted through a six-speed manual transmission, providing an exhilarating driving experience.

A Blend of Motorsport and Practicality

Ginetta’s motorsport heritage is evident in the Akula’s construction. The car features a carbon monocoque chassis and carbon subframes, providing exceptional strength and rigidity. The aerodynamic package, derived from Ginetta’s LMP1 racecar, enhances the car’s performance on the track. However, the Akula is not just a track-focused supercar. It offers practicality with a 100-liter fuel tank, a 473-liter trunk, and modern features such as a wireless phone charger and an infotainment system with Apple iOS integration.

Unparalleled Performance

The Akula’s performance figures are impressive. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 kmh) in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph (290 kmh). These figures, combined with its lightweight construction and advanced suspension system, make the Akula a formidable contender in the supercar market.

Limited Production

Ginetta plans to produce only 20 units of the Akula, with company owner Lawrence Tomlinson securing the first car. This limited production run ensures exclusivity and rarity for those fortunate enough to own one. Despite its unconventional aesthetics, the Akula’s performance and unique features make it a compelling choice for supercar enthusiasts.
