Hennessey’s H700: C8 Corvette with More Power than Z06

Hennessey Performance has unveiled its latest creation, the H700, a supercharged Chevrolet C8 Corvette that boasts more power than the Z06. While the Z06 is known for its track capability, Hennessey claims that the H700 outshines it in terms of power output. The H700 uses the same 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine as the regular C8 Corvette but adds a high-flow centrifugal supercharger, air induction system, and air-to-water intercooler, among other modifications. The engine produces 708 hp and 638 lb-ft of torque, compared to the Z06’s 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The H700 also comes with a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty and is priced at $34,950 for the supercharger upgrade and warranty or $49,950 for the full package.

Hennessey’s latest creation is not claiming to be faster than the Z06 around a track, but rather to have more power output. The H700 hits peak torque at 5,000 rpm and peak power at 5,900 rpm, while the Z06’s figures peak at 6,300 rpm and 8,400 rpm respectively. This difference in peak power determines how differently the two Corvettes sound. The H700 has a deep growl that appeals to those who love the lobey-cammed-out sound of a built-up V8, while the Z06’s high-rpm screams appeal to those who prefer that sound. Both sound more aggressive than a stock C8 Corvette Stingray.

Hennessey’s H700 is not just about power; it also comes with a serial numbered engine bay plaque and unique Hennessey badging on the car itself. The finished package also comes with a full three-year or 36,000-mile warranty. The H700 is priced at $34,950 for just the supercharger upgrade and warranty, while the full package goes for $49,950.
