Introduction

Car engineers and designers are constantly working on new projects, and Hyundai’s R&D team is no exception. Despite the recent release of the Ioniq 6 in the US, they are already testing a facelifted version of the electric sedan. Spy shots have revealed some significant changes, including a new split-headlight design and a larger battery.

Split-Headlight Design

The facelifted Ioniq 6 features a new hood and fenders that accommodate a split-headlight setup. The headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs) have been moved into the bumper below, giving the front-end a more distinctive look. This design change is similar to Hyundai’s Kona SUV.

Other Updates

In addition to the split-headlight design, the facelifted Ioniq 6 is expected to receive some minor changes to the rear LED lights and interior trim. It will also come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for added convenience.

Increased Range

One of the most significant updates to the facelifted Ioniq 6 is an increase in range. Like its sibling, the Ioniq 5, the new model will feature a larger battery. The current 77.4 kWh battery will be upgraded to an 84 kWh unit, providing a boost in driving range.

Powertrain Options

The powertrain options for the facelifted Ioniq 6 are expected to remain the same. It will be available with a 225 hp single-motor or a 320 hp dual-motor configuration. Additionally, Hyundai will introduce an Ioniq 6 N variant with a 641 hp twin-motor package and simulated paddle-shift transmission, similar to the Ioniq 5 N.

Conclusion

The facelifted Hyundai Ioniq 6 is set to bring some exciting changes to the electric sedan. With its new split-headlight design and increased range, it promises to be an even more appealing option for eco-conscious drivers. Stay tuned for its official reveal in 2025.
