Infiniti Considers Discontinuing QX50 and QX55, May Rebrand as Nissan Rogue

Infiniti to Discontinue QX50 and QX55 Models

  • Infiniti is set to drop the QX50 and QX55 from its lineup.
  • No direct successors are planned, but Infiniti may introduce a hybrid version of the Nissan Rogue.
  • The potential Infiniti ‘Rogue’ would serve as the brand’s entry-level model.

Infiniti Faces Challenges

Infiniti is currently facing challenges as it recently discontinued the Q50 and experienced delays with its upcoming EV. Additionally, the Q60 and Q70 models have been phased out.

QX55 Struggles

The QX55, a crossover coupe model, has not performed well in the market. It has only sold 1,854 units in the second quarter, with its best sales year being 2023 when 5,417 units were sold in the US.

Potential Discontinuation

According to Automotive News, Infiniti is rumored to discontinue the QX55 and QX50 models. Production is expected to end in August 2026, although the lifecycles of the models may be extended.

Possible Replacement

To fill the gap left by the QX50, Infiniti is considering offering a hybrid version of the Nissan Rogue. This would serve as the brand’s entry-level model.

Future Plans

Despite the discontinuation of certain models, Infiniti has announced plans for a new QX65 crossover coupe. It will be a mid-sized two-row SUV based on the QX60 and will compete with the Lexus RX.
