Infiniti Q2 Sales Drop 14.6% But New QX80 Could Help

Infiniti’s Sales Decline in 2024

Introduction

Infiniti, a luxury car brand, experienced a 13.2% drop in sales in the first half of 2024 compared to the previous year. Despite this decline, the brand’s three-row QX60 remained its best-selling vehicle.

Exciting News for Infiniti Dealers

After a period of neglect, Infiniti dealers have reason to be excited as the redesigned QX80 is set to launch later this month. Priced at $82,450, this new model is expected to give the brand a much-needed boost in sales.

Sales Performance

Infiniti’s second-quarter sales saw a significant decrease of 14.6% year-over-year, with only 14,123 units sold. Year-to-date numbers also reflect a downward trend, down by 13.2% compared to the previous year.

Vehicle Sales Breakdown

In the second quarter, the QX60 led the sales charts with 7,081 units sold, followed by the QX50 and QX80. Surprisingly, despite being discontinued in 2022, dealers managed to sell 11 Q60 coupes.

Challenges Faced

Infiniti continues to face challenges in the market, with its aging lineup struggling to compete against rivals like Cadillac and Lexus. The QX55 crossover coupe, once anticipated as a successor to the FX model, only managed to sell 759 units in the second quarter.

Looking Ahead

Despite these setbacks, Infiniti remains optimistic about its future. The upcoming launch of the QX80 and potential discounts on remaining Q60 models could help revitalize the brand’s sales performance in the coming months.
