Introducing the All-New Jeep Grand Cherokee: A Premium Off-Roader

Jeep, the leading global 4×4 company, is making its mark in the British SUV market with the launch of the fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. Despite its worldwide success, Jeep’s presence in the UK has been relatively small, accounting for only 0.3% of the market. However, with the introduction of the Jeep Avenger electric crossover and now the Grand Cherokee, Jeep aims to change that.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is a full-sized, premium off-roader, measuring 4.91m in length and 1.97m in width, making it comparable to the Land Rover Discovery. While there is a longer, seven-seat version available in the US, the UK market will only have access to the five-seat model.

In the UK, the Grand Cherokee is offered exclusively with a 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid engine, known as the 4xe. Currently, it is available in one trim level called Summit Reserve, which is positioned as the top-tier option. With a price tag of £85,615, it offers luxurious features and exceptional performance.

The Grand Cherokee’s monocoque construction is based on Alfa Romeo’s Giorgio platform, which is also used by other Stellantis brands such as Alfa Romeo and Maserati. This platform showcases its versatility as it caters to different vehicle types. While the Giorgio platform is utilized in the small and sporty Alfa Romeo Giulia, it also serves as the foundation for the massive and capable Grand Cherokee.

With its air-suspension system, the Grand Cherokee delivers an impressive off-road capability, allowing it to tow up to 2.7 tonnes and wade through water depths of 610mm. These features make it a versatile and reliable choice for adventurous drivers.

In conclusion, the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee is set to make a statement in the British SUV market. With its premium design, advanced hybrid technology, and exceptional off-road capabilities, it offers a unique and compelling option for SUV enthusiasts.
