Jeep Wagoneer 4xe with Ramcharger Range-Extended Powertrain | Giga Gears

Jeep Confirms Plans for Wagoneer 4xe Variants

Jeep officials have reportedly confirmed plans to introduce Wagoneer 4xe variants that will utilize a range-extended powertrain similar to the Ram 1500 Ramcharger.

Electrified Wagoneers on the Horizon

Jeep, known for producing some of the best-selling plug-in hybrids in America, is expanding its electrified lineup with the upcoming Wagoneer 4xe models. In addition to the recently confirmed Gladiator 4xe, the company is now focusing on electrifying the Wagoneer range.

Powertrain Details

According to a report by Autoblog, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa revealed that the Wagoneer 4xe models will borrow heavily from the Ram 1500 Ramcharger. This range-extended pickup features a 92 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 663 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately 4.4 seconds.

Unique Powertrain Setup

The standout feature of the powertrain is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that acts as a generator, providing a range of up to 690 miles. This setup allows the engine to recharge the battery or work in tandem with the battery to maximize power delivery to the wheels without a direct mechanical connection.

Launch and Pricing

While there is no official launch date for the Wagoneer 4xe models, it has been hinted that the powertrain will differ from the Ramcharger setup. This could result in variations in battery size and range for the shorter Wagoneer models. As for pricing, expect these electrified Wagoneers to come with a premium tag, considering the starting prices of $62,945 for the Wagoneer and $91,945 for the Grand Wagoneer.
