LEVC L380 Electric Minivan

Introduction

Geely-owned LEVC, known for its iconic TX London taxi and LCV, is set to launch a brand new electric minivan in China. The LEVC L380 draws inspiration from the Airbus A380, both in its name and exterior design, highlighting its spaciousness and comfort.

Exterior Design

The LEVC L380 features design elements inspired by the A380. The front showcases a full-width LED bar, bumper-mounted headlights, slim intakes, and a large windshield. The profile is sleek with flush door handles and large windows, while the vertically cut tail boasts full-width taillights with futuristic LED graphics.

Interior and Seating

The electric minivan offers seating options for either six or eight passengers. The eight-seater configuration is arranged in a four-row layout. Notably, the fourth-row seats can be folded and stowed under the boot, while the sliding third-row prioritizes legroom or boot space.

Specifications

The LEVC L380 measures 5,316 mm (209.3 inches) in length, 1,998 mm (78.7 inches) in width, and 1,940 mm (76.4 inches) in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,185 mm (125.4 inches) and a curb weight of 2,805 kg (6,184 lbs). The minivan is built on LEVC’s new Space Oriented Architecture (SOA), derived from Geely’s SEA platform. It is powered by a single electric motor producing 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and features a nickel-cobalt-manganate (NMC) battery pack with a capacity compatible with batteries ranging between 73 and 120 kWh. The estimated maximum range is 432 miles (695 km).

Production and Competition

The LEVC L380 will be manufactured in Zhejiang, China, alongside the LEVC TX. Competitors in the Chinese market include the Zeekr 009, Volvo EM90 twins, Li Mega, Denza D9, Xpeng X9, and Maxus Mifa 9.

Conclusion

The LEVC L380 is set to make its official debut in the coming weeks. With its unique design inspired by the Airbus A380 and its spacious interior, it aims to offer a comfortable and eco-friendly transportation solution in the minivan segment.
