Lucid Teases Longer-Range Dream Edition of the Gravity SUV

Lucid Gravity SUV

Introduction

Following the successful launch of its Air sedan and the longer-range Air Dream Edition, Lucid is now turning its attention to its second vehicle, the Gravity SUV. The company’s CEO has hinted at an upcoming limited edition model that will offer even greater driving range.

The Lucid Gravity: A Long-Range Electric SUV

Recently unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Lucid Gravity is set to become one of the longest-range electric SUVs on the market. With a target range of 440 miles (708 km) between charges, the Gravity will achieve this impressive feat with fewer battery cells than its competitors, indicating potential room for further improvements.

A Longer-Range Dream Edition in the Works?

When asked about the possibility of a longer-range Dream edition, Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson neither confirmed nor denied it, stating, “Am I that predictable?” While he did not disclose the exact range of the special edition model, it is expected to surpass the already impressive 440-mile mark.

Continuing Lucid’s Legacy of Long-Range EVs

Lucid has a track record of delivering exceptional driving ranges with its vehicles. The Air sedan initially promised a range of 400 miles (644 km), which was then exceeded by the limited edition Air Dream Edition with an EPA-certified range of 520 miles (837 km). The upcoming special edition Gravity SUV is expected to continue this trend.

Production and Details

The Lucid Gravity is scheduled to enter production in late 2024, allowing ample time for the development of special edition models. While specific details about the standard Gravity are yet to be revealed, such as battery size and horsepower, the SUV already boasts impressive features including a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of 3.5 seconds, up to 112 cubic-feet of cargo space, and a starting price below $80,000.
