National Highways Announces Third Planned M25 Closure

National Highways has revealed details of the third planned closure of the M25 this year, as part of the ongoing £317 million project to enhance junction 10. The closure is scheduled to take place over a full weekend from junction 9 (A243 Leatherhead) to junction 10 (A3 Wisley), starting at 9pm on Friday, 12 July and concluding at 6am on Monday, 15 July.

This closure is necessary for the installation of a new bridge at the roundabout of junction 10, following previous closures for bridge removal and gantry installation. National Highways has warned drivers in the area to anticipate delays, especially those heading to Gatwick or Heathrow airports, festivals, concerts, or embarking on holiday journeys.

The closure is expected to impact traffic heading to the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, prompting organizers to advise attendees to check their routes before setting off for the event. National Highways has emphasized the importance of following official diversion routes to ensure smooth travel during the closure.

Diversion Routes for the July M25 Closure

National Highways has provided diversion routes for the upcoming M25 closure in July:

Junction 10 to junction 11: Northbound A3 to Painshill junction, A245 towards Woking, and then A320 to M25 junction 11.

Junction 11 to junction 10: A320 south towards Woking, A245 towards Byfleet and Painshill junction, southbound A3 to junction 10.

Drivers have also been advised that using the M25 via the Dartford Crossing may be a quicker alternative to avoid the closure. Stay informed and plan your journey accordingly to minimize disruptions during this period.
