Expect Delays on M25 During Festival of Speed Weekend

Drivers planning to use the M25 during the upcoming Festival of Speed weekend should be prepared for delays, as National Highways has announced a full weekend closure from junction 9 (A243 Leatherhead) to junction 10 (A3 Wisley).

Details of the Closure

The closure will begin at 9pm on Friday, July 12, and end at 6am on Monday, July 15. This closure is part of the ongoing £317 million junction 10 improvement scheme, with two more closures planned later in the year.

This closure will allow National Highways to install a new bridge on the roundabout at junction 10. Drivers heading to Gatwick or Heathrow airports, festivals, concerts, or on holiday should expect delays.

Impact on Goodwood Festival of Speed

The closure is expected to impact drivers heading to the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Organizers have advised attendees to check their routes before departing for the event.

Diversion Routes

National Highways has outlined diversion routes for the closure:

Junction 10 to Junction 11: Northbound A3 to Painshill Junction, A245 towards Woking, and then A320 to M25 Junction 11.

Junction 11 to Junction 10: A320 south towards Woking, A245 towards Byfleet and Painshill junction, Southbound A3 to Junction 10.

Drivers can also consider using the M25 via the Dartford Crossing as an alternative route to avoid the closure.
